Why do (not) we believe in God?

One wise man once said, "We are all believers: some believe in existence of God, some believe in its non-existence".

Why do we tend to use some supernatural/divine entity or Supreme Being to explain things that we donot understand and can't explain by ourselves? Why do we need this entity to help us live by drawing power from it? Why can we find solitude and peace when we go to a place of worship? Why do we believe that this Supreme being is fair and caring and will give us what we ask in our prayers?

Why, inpsite of such a great number of believers, are there non-believers, people who donot use any supernatural entity to explain things even when they don't understand something? Where from did they get this knowledge of non-existence of this supreme being and what makes them think there is no such a being? How do they explain the "massive believeness" of other people then? What do they believe in?

Do we really need to believe in anything?

  2. Try to think of these first before starting to explain who's god? what is god? how do you define him? and everything....

First think who brought the God concept, why do these people say there is a person who's controlling this world? why are we limiting everything to what he says?

If this ALLMIGHTY God is so powerful why cant he save the people who are suffering in this world? For example recently the people who faced the earthquake in Haiti, people who are suffering from HIV, people who dont have enough food to statisy their hunger?
As people living in the 21st century we maybe should not believe in such lame myths and thoughts...??!!!
Another thing now Jesus was said to have born in Jeruselum, and he said to those people he'll be the saviour of mankind, after he had passed away what good had he brought to the Jerusalem and arounding countries till now....I think the most fearsome clashes and wars are happening at those places at the moment......
I know most of the christians, muslims, hindus will have a simple answer for this. "at the end they will be brought to heaven".....ok fine if they were suppose to go to heaven at the end why do they have to suffer so much to get there.....
Also these religions will have another explaination for the current situation of the world "these are all due satans work"......If God calls himself so powerful why cant he stop him, does this mean that satan is more powerful.....???
I'm not a person who tries to discriminate the sayings of God and what people believe but i'm trying to think real.......so lighten up.....in whatever way you think
