Why do people sometimes prefer to hide the truth and say something which is not quite real,clearly realizing and admitting that it is a wrong-doing? Why do they try to conceal anything? Do they try to make this world (and themselves in particular) look a little bit better and more perfect even if everybody knows (or will know at a certain point) that it's not true? Is it a way to protect themselves? or simply to feel better about themselves?
Do people lie more for the sake of others or for their own sake?
Is it possible to lie without knowing that one is doing it?
Is it possible to lie to oneself?
